Residential Testing
We offer comprehensive residential leakage testing to enhance your home's energy efficiency and comfort. Our service utilizes a blower door to depressurize your house, allowing us to precisely locate air infiltration points throughout the structure. We also conduct duct leakage testing to ensure your heating and cooling system is operating efficiently without losing conditioned air. To trace elusive drafts and significant leaks, we use a professional-grade smoke pen that visually identifies air movement at windows, doors, and other areas prone to leakage. Finally, an advanced infrared camera scan reveals thermal anomalies and hidden air leaks behind walls and ceilings, providing a complete diagnostic picture to help you seal your home effectively.
Advanced Infrared Imaging
Infrared imaging is used in conjunction with the blower door tester to give a clear picture of the specific areas where your home is losing energy.
Smoke Tracing
Smoke tracing is used alongside the blower door tester to make hidden leaks visible, showing exactly where unwanted air is entering or escaping your home.
Whole-house depressurization
Whole-house depressurization, also known as a blower door test, is used to measure the overall airtightness of the building envelope and to quantify how much air is leaking into or out of the home.
How much does it cost?
$299.00
$400.00
We offer two different testing options.
The first is priced at $299.00 and includes a whole-house blower door test, infrared imaging, and smoke tracing. Together, these three methods make up what is traditionally known as a whole-house envelope leakage test.
The second option, priced at $400.00, also includes a duct leakage test. After sealing off all access points to your ductwork, such as supply and return registers, we use our state-of-the-art Retrotec duct blaster to depressurize the ducts to 0.0 Pascals while simultaneously depressurizing your living space to –25 Pascals. This process identifies leakage escaping into unconditioned areas, such as the garage or attic.
Please note that our comprehensive testing does not include repairs to your home. If significant leakage is detected, your tester cannot repair or replace windows, doors, weatherstripping, framing, cracked ductwork, or any other leaky areas. Our responsibility is to diagnose and document leakage, providing you with a clear profile of any existing problems. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to hire the appropriate contractor to make any necessary repairs or improvements.
